California Traffic 2.6

A service offering a map and data feed of incidents reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The information is organized into a past 1-hour incident map, past 3-hour incident map, and past 3-hour data feed. The Google Map feature automatically adjusts to your last location upon launch.

All incidents now include city and county information, and the service keeps track of updates provided by CHP as more details become available. Incident details comprise latitude & longitude coordinates and a zoomed map representation.

This service focuses on non-criminal incidents and is independent of the California Highway Patrol. Premium subscribers have access to advanced search functionality, enabling them to filter incidents on the map or data feed using simple search phrases such as "fire" and "sig alert," along with other incident-related criteria like type, city, or county.

The service covers a variety of incident types including SIG Alerts, Fires, Road Closures, Traffic Advisories, Traffic Breaks, Traffic Fatalities, Wrong Way Drivers, Poor Road Conditions, Chain Control, Snow Info, Mud / Dirt / Rock issues, Flooding, Foggy conditions, Spilled Material incidents, and Reports of Animals.
